I decided to split off my postings of economic links from Jim's Thoughts, so that I can get that topic back to what it was intended to be, a place for me to post trading ideas and thoughts I had that I felt could be of interest to the readers.

This topic is where I will post links to various economic articles, for those that find them interesting. If you want to read (or post) articles about the unfolding debaucle, this is the place to look. If you are a short-term daytrader or swing trader and have zero interest in the economy, you can now just read Jim's Thoughts and not have to wade through this type of dicussion.

At best I think this material only has a direct effect on longer-term plays, the bigger swings that make up the major legs of the bull and bear markets. I follow this stuff for that reason, and because I want to have a handle on things, if that is even possible in this era of lies and deception, so that I can make decisions on life issues.

For example, as I posted in the commentary on the website and discussed with many people well in advance, this was something that wasn't hard to see coming. I saw many people who told me as late as Oct 2007 that 'this thing is about to 'break out' to the upside, and that Dow 20,000, and then much higher, was 'just around the corner' '. The type of articles I am posting discuss the type of information that helped me form the viewpoints I had back then.

If this is far from over, as I suspect, we are in a similar postion now as back then. With the rally that is unfolding right now the talk is the bull is back, the bottom is in, and we are set. I'm not so sure. So, I try to weigh up all the factors and not get too sucked in by the hype. To that end, I will post things here I find interesting.

If you want to see another opinion on gold, what it may actually be worth, and what may be going on behind the scenes, read this:

Everyone should read this:

http://theautomaticearth.blogspot.com/2010/05/may-12-2010-how-to-profit-from.html

Just read the first article (unless you want to read more), stop when you get to the next article 'Europe faces...'

But since I'm the prophet of doom all the time, always with the bad news, at least I should report good news for a change when we have it. Looks like BP has finally come up with a solution for the massive Gulf oil leak. They are going to stuff 'tires and golf balls' into the high pressure volcano leak and plug it up. Seriously. That's not a blog joke gone viral. Yep, I think that will work. Are you kidding me? We put men on the moon, double our computer processers every 18 months, developed a vaccine for polio, etc., and that's the best they can come up with? Stuff tires and golf balls in the hole?

Well, here's some support for what I've been saying all along:

http://www.zerohedge.com/article/insights-ex-wall-street-ceo

The curious thing, though, is how feeble and weak this scheme actually could be if the carry unwinds or the cumulative hedge funds get the best of them, even for a minute. That I didn't think would/could be the case. If so, that could explain how the bear could resume here. Speaking of the bear, anyone look lately at Terry Laundry, Mr. super-perma-bull, we are going to a million zillion? Not so bullish any more. Saying things are lining up just like before the '87 crash. Basically saying 'bull' is done, panic imminent, if my interpretation is correct. Wow.

This is a must read, if there ever was one:

Please, tell everyone you know about this, forward them the link, start talking out loud to everyone about this, call your representatives, do something constructive. Don't just sit there.

This sounds just like my lastest commentary on the website. I guess I'm not the only one waiting on the global reset and fiat currencies going to zero... I think it could happen any day. Maybe we last a bit longer, but maybe it goes in a 'flash crash'.

And Jim does have a 'Jim Theory' about a way they could extend and pretend a bit longer. It's spooky, though. Real spooky. You see, we need a world bailout. The joke at Zero Hedge is 'only Mars can save us now'. But, what if they came up with a way to bail out the entire world? Instead of global default, kick the can down the road some more.

How about a variation of a worldwide currency, some type of SDR from the IMF. Now, normally we are a big chunk of the IMF, as far as contributions. But no one can contribute anything to the IMF in a global reset situation. Usually an SDR would be comprised of a basket of currencies. How about a new 'Jim Theory SDR', comprised of: simply a new currency, the 'Worldo' (named like the 'Amero'). Then, all the countries do the reset by exchanging their old currency for the new currency, with loans and terms and the like, and the entire planet becomes enslaved to the IMF/illuminati.

This would 'save' the world, be better than the meltdown reset, and would be greeted with open arms by the entire world. And maybe we are being driven right into these jaws as we speak. Is this like the movie 'The Pelican Brief'? Did I figure it out? Will I disappear, along with everyone reading this, like in the movie :-) I hope not, but I suspect I have, indeed, figured out the next stage. And 'total and complete world domination and enslavement' doesn't sound very good to me...

I'll stop posting comments in here soon, as they are getting to all look the same. My thinking, which was years ahead of its time, is now becoming mainstream, expect for the perma-bull goverment mouthpieces.

http://www.zerohedge.com/article/seth-klarman-sees-another-lost-decade-stocks-artificial-market-reminds-him-hostess-twinkie

I wouldn't draw the conclusion, though, that now that this kind of thinking is mainstream the opposite will happen and we will be fine. Instead I think it shows we are accepting this fate already at this stage, people know it, they see no way out, and they are resigned to it. The question is, is it only going to be as bad as Jim says, or far worse? If most people out there are now starting to accept what is posted in this section, and the masses are usually wrong, then could the masses be wrong because it will be far worse than they now accept?

I forgot, I do have another hero to go with Ron Paul and David Stockman, and that's Nigel Farage. Here's his latest:
