I decided to split off my postings of economic links from Jim's Thoughts, so that I can get that topic back to what it was intended to be, a place for me to post trading ideas and thoughts I had that I felt could be of interest to the readers.
This topic is where I will post links to various economic articles, for those that find them interesting. If you want to read (or post) articles about the unfolding debaucle, this is the place to look. If you are a short-term daytrader or swing trader and have zero interest in the economy, you can now just read Jim's Thoughts and not have to wade through this type of dicussion.
At best I think this material only has a direct effect on longer-term plays, the bigger swings that make up the major legs of the bull and bear markets. I follow this stuff for that reason, and because I want to have a handle on things, if that is even possible in this era of lies and deception, so that I can make decisions on life issues.
For example, as I posted in the commentary on the website and discussed with many people well in advance, this was something that wasn't hard to see coming. I saw many people who told me as late as Oct 2007 that 'this thing is about to 'break out' to the upside, and that Dow 20,000, and then much higher, was 'just around the corner' '. The type of articles I am posting discuss the type of information that helped me form the viewpoints I had back then.
If this is far from over, as I suspect, we are in a similar postion now as back then. With the rally that is unfolding right now the talk is the bull is back, the bottom is in, and we are set. I'm not so sure. So, I try to weigh up all the factors and not get too sucked in by the hype. To that end, I will post things here I find interesting.

Very interesting:
http://www.zerohedge.com/article/fake-bogeymen-and-artificial-security
The system has to change, and radically, but to do so means those in power, and their shams and scams to control us and steal our money, have to end, and they will do everything for as long as they can to not allow that to happen, including taking us down the tubes. They will fight to the last drop of your blood...

If anyone wants a good read on economics, free markets (and just how 'un-free' ours has been for a long time now), Austrian viewpoints, and why they are doing all the wrong things now, this book is pretty good. It is copyright 2008, but that is even better in a way, given how they didn't know all of what we know now, 2+ years later, yet they still seem to be right on. The reader can look at it from the point of how much less they knew and how they still could see it so clearly.

This video has gone viral, with millions and millions of views now. It is a great video to show to those in your lives that don't understand finance. It's even good for those that do. I find the info, although very basic, to be dead on my read on things. Nothing more fun than cartoon bears.

And if you are in the mood for more bears, this is worthwhile. Note that the authors are different, only the bears are the same.

Thanks, Jim. I loved the first one. That is the best explanation of "Quantitative Easing" that I have heard. The emperor's new clothes.

Interesting little video. Interesting, too, that even former staunch bears are now following the bull tape.

You know, in all my years of life I have never heard so many 'average folk' talk about revolution. I go to the grocery store and the middle-aged woman checking me out and the woman behind me, they start saying how the revolution is coming. I go to Wal-Mart, and I start talking with a guy in the aisle there, and he says we are going to have a revolution. I talk to my neighbors, and they say get ready, the revolution is coming, and at least up here we can hunt and fish and we have plenty of firewood.
Maybe everyone else's experiences are different, but I've never seen anything like this. Sure, it's all over the blogs, but when just about every average person is talking about it without prompting, it's time for me to stand up and take notice. After all this, and that last video, I can't get this song out of my head. All you old timers will know this one. roofer, I know you'll know it (I'm not saying you're an 'old timer'). We grew up on this music.

And the lyrics:
http://www.lyricsfreak.com/n/thunderclap+newman/something+in+the+air_20264743.html
I'm in no way promoting violence, only saying 'something's in the air'...
"We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now"
(I'm referring to our s#%& with the above quote.)

One of the better articles I've read relating to the above is this one:

Read Nominal Man Part III: War Is The Health Of The State
If you like the Nominal Man theme, here are Parts I & II:

I forgot, I do have another hero to go with Ron Paul and David Stockman, and that's Nigel Farage. Here's his latest:
