I decided to split off my postings of economic links from Jim's Thoughts, so that I can get that topic back to what it was intended to be, a place for me to post trading ideas and thoughts I had that I felt could be of interest to the readers.
This topic is where I will post links to various economic articles, for those that find them interesting. If you want to read (or post) articles about the unfolding debaucle, this is the place to look. If you are a short-term daytrader or swing trader and have zero interest in the economy, you can now just read Jim's Thoughts and not have to wade through this type of dicussion.
At best I think this material only has a direct effect on longer-term plays, the bigger swings that make up the major legs of the bull and bear markets. I follow this stuff for that reason, and because I want to have a handle on things, if that is even possible in this era of lies and deception, so that I can make decisions on life issues.
For example, as I posted in the commentary on the website and discussed with many people well in advance, this was something that wasn't hard to see coming. I saw many people who told me as late as Oct 2007 that 'this thing is about to 'break out' to the upside, and that Dow 20,000, and then much higher, was 'just around the corner' '. The type of articles I am posting discuss the type of information that helped me form the viewpoints I had back then.
If this is far from over, as I suspect, we are in a similar postion now as back then. With the rally that is unfolding right now the talk is the bull is back, the bottom is in, and we are set. I'm not so sure. So, I try to weigh up all the factors and not get too sucked in by the hype. To that end, I will post things here I find interesting.

I ask that everyone read this. I've finally reached the point where I don't think there is anything we can do about it, it's a runaway freight train and can't be stopped now that it has been set into motion (not to mention the conductor is stoking the furnace full speed and has the throttle on full as he looks for ways to increase the speed from here). But, at the least, we should be aware that we may likely be in the final stages of the start of the endgame. I truly see no way this isn't going to play out. What a way to spend the final twenty years of my life. I worked my whole life, for this...

I know, you're depressed enough already, you don't want anymore. But, if you do:

Here's a little background for the above links (if you follow Zero Hedge you already know all this):

And here's another interesting post.

And one more (I've been watching and worrying about this, as other countries have done it):

Don't worry, they aren't too long.

Although very simplistic, this is worth a quick read:
http://www.zerohedge.com/article/art-cashin-coming-hyperinflation
Everyone knows I'm a strong proponent of the theory that we will have a global reset (a total 'collapse'). The interesting/curious/crazy part is that there is no way to even get a hint at what the seminal, triggering event may be. Currency wars that spiral out of control, a breaking of the LMBA control of gold prices, a loss of faith in bonds and a rapid rise in rates, a sovereign default, this mortgage mess, a rapid rise in food prices and ensuing riots, the list goes on and on.
All I can say is, as we look back on this, we'll most likely say: 'We didn't see that coming.' It doesn't matter what it is that knocks it over, what matters is recognizing that we are on top of the biggest house of cards ever built, and Bern-Quacke has set up a huge blower, pointed it at the house, put it on high, and plugged it in, telling us he'll save the house of cards. It matters not which air molecule starts the collapse.
I hope I'm wrong, but I feel the chances of a complete collapse in the next few months to years (to possibly as long as ten years, if they come up with some crazy manipulations, but I think this is extremely unlikely) is essentially 100.00000000000000000000%. But, that's just one man's opinon.

Phew! Although I am not sure about all of his solutions (none of which stand even a snowball's chance in hell of being implemented), the rest is spot on in my opinion. Just think about all the implications. Our pension funds are all essentially insolvent. The insurance for for them is insolvent. Are banks are all insolvent, as is the FDIC. The U.S. government is completely insolvent, and I just read about how many trillions in debt have to be rolled over in the next 1-3 years, and who is going to buy that debt from us?
All the $ you have in your bank, the bank doesn't have it. The FDIC can only handle a few takedowns here and there, there are trillions in savings, and the fund is net negative. Your money is gone, stolen, wiped out. You only think it is there. You only think the USD has any value. Soon you will realize it doesn't, in my opinion. This mess is just incomprehensible to me. And the s#%& has barely even come close to hitting the fan yet. Now, when you see how far and deep the fraud runs (and imagine this isn't even the start of what is still hidden), and how when you corner a rat it fights ten times as hard, imagine what will happen as they try to cover all this up.
We are so f*&@'ed it's just unreal. Meanwhile, the big banks will be paying out record bonuses again this year, higher than during the dot.bomb era, because the banks have made such high 'profits' while the country burns. And yet I don't see a single demonstration in the streets here, and no one will even talk to me about this, and they just say I'm always so negative...

I forgot, I do have another hero to go with Ron Paul and David Stockman, and that's Nigel Farage. Here's his latest:
