I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.

I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

Hi Jim,

I think that any contibution that you would make to the forum is great, be it a chart or just writing your thoughts.
I am much more interested in learning how you think than just having PTA's pointed out. As you have said many times before, there are many other important aspects to trading, so anything that you want to share would be appreciated.
Why cant you post your working charts? Why bother recreating them on the dynamic trader platform?

Nice call on the MR, I missed it though. I almost never get in on these run away days. In hind sight I saw an ABCD on the 34 tick but that was after the market had run, and I dont like to chase the market. I think that on friday afternoon the sell off was deliberate, and a setup for this mornings move, as you where probably well aware of. When the market completes a pattern at the end of a trading day, how do you enter? Just wait the next morning with your favorite trigger? Were you at thinking about a gap fill or was that a clue to go long? Anyway, nice trade!!

Hey Jim,
I like ur idea but im just wondering if this 'Jim's thoughts" topic was exclusively reserved to subjects that U start up from ur own and let everybody discuss it, or is it okay to post random thoughts ideas in here ? (since it is "J's thoughts" and not 'T's thoughts" or Joe's thoughts).I suppose I should start a new topic thread for non-Jim's thoughts, right? but I just need some clarification on that before I post anything.

T,

That's a great question, and one I didn't think about. We can try it where anyone can post their thoughts, and see how that works. I just didn't want it to become a place where my thoughts were spaced between lots of charts. I would prefer that if I say 'Did you notice this in the Russell, or that in the Euro' and someone wants to post a chart on that just put it in one of the topics where it fits, or create a new topic. I know there is less continuity that way, but I am finding that I want one central area that I can just click and post, to give me the best chance of posting, since time is always an issue for me.

Duane,

I'll just say a few quick things about entry techniques on that one. I had intended to publish a follow up to A Pattern Trade Entry Technique called A Pattern Trade Gap Entry Technique (but I just couldn't write any more), and this one was near perfect. Draw a trendline down the last bit of 1-minute action before the close, and see how it opened.

Next, look at a very fine tick chart from 1.5 to .5 hours before the open. They goosed it up, and it pulled back to a .447, to the tick. I had my direction, and a pullback to work with. One trigger might be on a trade over that swing-high point it gave me to work with, which happened three minutes into the regular session.

keep it rolling, guys !
=)
The action is interesting for an abcde in the CD leg of the daily TD on the MR charts,as J mentionned in an earlier post.
Here my observations for that scenario: In the potential 'd' leg(62/13min charts), price has blown out a 4PC completion area so next developing structure im watching is regular alternate ABCDs where that impulsive 5 waves move up is AB leg ,last thurday/fri deep pullback being BC leg and current action is now looking to complete the CD part thus would complete 'd' of abcde and from there,if it gets there,i'd be fishing for more clues ...many PTA's can be derived depending on what a given situation suggests.

Jim,
With respect to this place for quick thoughts, I second the opinion of the other members .
I believe that whomever made it to this forum, is capable of taking an idea and do some own work based on it.
And if by mistake you will slip and post " ..your best setups " , don't worry about it. We will not be angry with you ! :)

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
