I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.

I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

Take a look at longer-term charts of copper, aluminum, unleaded gas, and many others. They have these double cup and handle looks to them, and they all look ready to explode to the upside. This, as they sit at or near all-time highs. I just can't imagine we aren't entering hyperinflation. I am really thinking about trade potential, though, not just the effects on me as a consumer.

Hmmm, so is this it? The key lines go ('go' means get taken out), and bigger bearish ABCD's start to form? They would complete right at line and 'congestion' areas well above, and that would surely have the bullish sentiment so thick you could cut it with a knife. And what if the CD legs turn out to be 'wave 3's'? Amazing how some very rational views see impending financial Armageddon coming, and the market goes up.

Yes, I got the e-mail and checked it out, and the did some further research on this. It is ominous, in my opinion.

Amazing the influence of those lines, across the board. Not sure I've ever seen an area 'tested' so many times and not give way, and not produce the usual 'disappointment' reaction when it doesn't give way.

If you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy you'll get this: you've went from roofer the grey to roofer the white!

Basically he said, as far as I read it, we had a few muni bond auctions in NY and they had zero bids, no one showed up! I did some research and this isn't the first time for this, it's been happening across the country. The credit markets are seized up, and it's just getting started, they say. He went on to say he is looking at a possible full blown depression, and for being one of the most positive guys I've ever seen, he was ominous about what is about to unfold. I also think I recall he said the housing bust is barely getting started.

How'd I do, M?

I hate to post some thoughts in 'public' when I'm a believer that 'Big Brother' is watching everything, but here's my take (read that opinion). I firmly believe the government works with the big banks (big banks, big business, and government are synonymous, in my opinion), via the Plunge Protection Team (PPT), and lately in just outright manipulation. I think they told the banks to inject more liquidity into ABK, and then 'leak' the news out at a very specific time on Friday. Then at that instant they hit the market with layered buy programs with our tax dollars, and it explodes. If this news came out and no reaction happened, which is what I think would have been the case, the sellers would have hit it.

In this case, they had to cover, and more and more buying gets triggered. They did it again today on more inane and really useless news. And it instantly exploded, again. Give me a break, shorts aren't going to panic on news like that. It's a non-item, in my opinion. It's all staged and engineered, in my opinion, and we are going to see a lot more of it to 'get this in shape'. Even the Fed admitted they will be doing whatever they have to, and using whatever methods they need to, even unconventional means. I think we are seeing some of them right now.

Re: Tim. In his own words 'I think we are headed for a very deep recession, if not depression'
He also dissed Bernanke big time, basically saying that he doesn't know what he is doing, and said the country needs someone like Volcker as Fed chairman right now. Then he went on to say that he was stunned to find out that the Merc doesn't offer T-bill futures anymore. They delisted them. He said one of the greatest things to do right now would be to be long T-bill futures, short eurodollars. He also said 'in personal finances I would be a s liquid as possible and if you can sell your house do it now...'

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
