I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.
I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

Okay, I just saw one of the oddest things ever. I watched that almost 98K 1-min volume bar form, and then several almost half that size after that. I went to another chart to look at some things, looked back, and the volume bar is now just under 47K. What the heck happened to it? Yeah, I could see them correcting it, but I watched it build up slowly all the way to that level, not skip up there like a 'bad tick'. Sometimes I wonder if we can trust any of the data...

i am puzzled what jim saw.... i simply saw the snp chart that was posted, that at the moment of low ddm and rut completed double barrel shotgun and the qld had been trading like a champ all day based on the tools... just another day... on another note.. politics is about power .. power is about money...our system is broken... no one write better about that truth than glenn greenwald.. i have left every other forum where obama's name has been hyphenated...

I'm starting to suspect the mushrooms on my sandwich with that optical delusion on the volume there, roofer. As far as the action, yes, it was awesome as all get out today. I'll try to post a chart on what I saw with the 1.128's and spike lines that I mentioned, if that is what you were referring to?

BTW, look at all the choices for spike lines at that low, too. And what I have taken to calling, to myself, a 'double barreled 1.128 shotgun', was there, too.
Here's what I was looking at. The SP cash hit the lower // dead on, while the ES fell a little short. This didn't bother me one bit because the bigger set on there is the same one from the 4-Point that started the big flush down. The ML for that set was hit dead on, and that was a far more important set for me. So, I had the two 1.128's hitting, and those lines in green, whether they are true 'spike lines' or not, they are lines I was including. The main area I expected this to hit was exactly where it went to, before rolling over quite nicely. I used candlesticks to show how the bodies didn't get penetrated on the 15-min, nor did they on the 5-min, although I use different criteria for use of lines like this than roofer does. The above is not all I had in the area, but it is some of the main framework.

Frontline is one of my favorite programs on TV and on the 17th they are airing this (if you are not already sick and tired of it):

Yeah, I just watched 'House of Cards' on CNBC. And watched them pass a well over $1 trillion with interest 'stimulus' bill that was over a 1,000 pages that just about all said they had no time to read. I spent the day making my imitation piggy sounds, since I think it is stuffed to the gills with pork. As many were saying, it's a spending bill, not a stimulus bill. So, sick of it already? I passed go, didn't collect $200, and went straight to 'forced on me debtor's jail' long, long ago... But, I'll watch it anyway.

As long as we are on such a roll, posting these depressing articles:

Okay, I can't be stopped now. What a way to spend a Saturday. You'd think I'd have better things to do than read super-depressing (but also very realistic, in my opinion) articles, but no...

I find this one particularly good, as it is the first one I have read that really hits into what I have been thinking all along about Europe being in a state of complete denial, and way, way behind the curve. It is going to be something if what he says is true.

When I tell my European friends and family that the Eurozone might be in a deeper hole than the US they are very surprised to hear it. I think part of it is that in the past European governments have often shielded the general public from big economic problems by nationalizing companies/banks (which here in the US means socialism, the ultimate bad word ) and more importantly that this might be the first time in modern history ( I might be wrong here) that Europe has fully participated in what I like to call "capitalist crimes" and as a result is now fully engulfed in flames and doesn't know what to do. In the past unemployment in certain countries like France or Germany was high because of a stiff and stagnating system, now unemployment is high because....well, we know why...

And there's the new low for the entire bear market on the Trannies. Yep, I think it's a new bull, like they said on TV. We need a new theory. Let's call it 'The Reverse DOW Theory Confirmation Technique'. It says when the DOW Industrials is flirting with a new bear market low, and the Transports go ahead and set a new bear market low, we are really in a new bull market. It should really catch on, on TV.

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
