I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.
I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

It's so funny, how after having gotten an 'official' Dow Theory sell signal and bear market confirmation, the Trannies set another new bear market low today, and every last person I hear is bullish as all get out. Very curious...

So frickin' bizarre. I am running eSignal data. I was watching one blog, and he commented on how increasing volume on a break would be the key factor for him. We got the break, and the volume was the highest I had ever seen for a 'regular' move. I was seeing multiple bars in the 180-190K contracts per 5-min bar. He posted a chart, showing volume just over 50K, good, but not remarkable. I scrolled my chart back to see that this was in fact the highest in a long time, and found it was. I scrolled forward to do a screen capture and send it to this guy, and the volume was the same as his, in the 50's! This is the second time this has happened to me. I posted it last time, the volume was this huge number, then it magically changed on the same chart, with no 'bad tick' indication or anything. It is totally bizarre. I know what I saw, and next time I see anything high on volume I'm going to screen capture it, but what the hell is going on??? Keep in mind, this high volume stayed on my chart for about a full hour, where I watched it the entire time, then it just vanished, multiple bars. WTF.

That's why the next time it happens I'm going to screen capture it real fast...

Wow. And if there really is an additional $25 trillion in writedowns left over there, the pressure will rise to indredible levels. The article did mention one thing that is a consideration. What if, instead of countries dropping out of the EU, they instead 'fast track' new members, using much lower entry criteria, and expand rapidly instead? Almost a 'takeover' of sorts, a seizure of an opportunity, albeit with lower standards and all the consequences that entails. A move of desperation. I'm not sure what the perceived advantages might be, but it is something I was thinking about, and it did get a small mention in the article.

I doubt that could ever happen in Europe for political and "ethnic" reasons. Just think of the refusal of member states to accept Turkey into EU. Just too many cooks in the kitchen...

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
