I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.

I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

Dan,

I'm using a 120-min all sessions, but if you can get a tick chart that looks about like that it would be better.

Notice the ABCD on the Russell (detail on the 13-minute) that formed when the 4-Point Continuation Pattern Pink showed didn't hold (BTW, I watch 4-Points to go to ABCD's when they fail, although a C point at a .786+ is a bit deep for me on an ABCD)? It bounced nicely to a .564 and .685 confluence with a line, and then rolled right down. It's back at the ABCD point. Is this a key spot here, or what?

Got to love this action... The sell spot off the line, .564 and .685 area was sweet. Once the pattern areas goes, it can lead to a nice flush. See the line right here, now, after the sell off? Clue time. If it doesn't hold?

For you futures followers out there, look at cotton. Notice that clear setup for the short side on the daily/weekly? It rolled right off it, and threw a small ABCD for clues (which failed, as I would expect). Now it is at a key area, and has pounded out a small 3-Drives. Will this bounce and then the bigger setup prevails? Is this a launchpad for the bigger setup to get taken out? Will it not even produce a bounce? This is good stuff in here for everyone to study.

Did you see that Russell drop like a stone right to that same line I showed from the weekend commentary, where they came right in for it? This was one of perhaps the top three Russell trading days I have ever seen.

I couldn't agree more... I had a feeling it was going to be a repeat of the open in 2000. This is going to be an interesting year, I think.

those who know me well know i trade long with indifference and short with a gusto and that i love a wildly swinging market because that is where the geometry really shines with the advent of the qid, i'll be able to be short one way or another all the time!

Notice that OIH just hanging around that line intersection area? That's curious, huh? Do a current workup on the Euro. That basic ABCD finally let go, as I suspected it might. Mick R and I were discussing this just recently. There is a key area around 125 that it may be headed to, but there are many potential premises to work with on this one. Notice, too, gold and its ABCD. Look at the grains, too, especially corn, and the softs. That cotton was/is nuts. Lots and lots of things are happening right now.

Can someone do that tick chart for the pound under that topic? This is worth seeing.

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
