I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.
I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

All I can do is see how it acts and set up potential trades. I am not a forecaster, I only mention the higher areas because it seems this bullish government manipulation has taken hold, and now all that sideline cash will pile in, and until we reach an extreme of sentiment the other way this may not slow down at all. The hype machine is rolling full speed, and as a trader, I plan to try to be on the right side of things, and that may well be up for a long time now. I don't want to miss that taking short shots at every area on the way up. I need to plan such that I can be short when I need to be short, and long when I need to be long, with the bias on long until proven otherwise. I hope that makes sense.

Yep, always trying to be helpful, always trying to spread knowledge and rationality, but it's a futile quest. Plus, I hate doing household chores and so if I say I'm working on important forum posts I can get out of work for awhile at least...

Okay, now feel free to correct me if you find this information is incorrect. GS 'swtiched' its reporting cycle because they wanted to line up with the usual Jan-Mar quarter now that they are a 'regular bank'. So, it seems, they 'left out' December, since they normally reported Dec-Feb, and switched to Jan-Mar. Simply left it out. It turns out they lost $1 billion in Dec, $2.15 per share. But it isn't factored into their earnings, which, as we know, was $3.39 a share, $1.6 billion, as they said 'easily surpassing analysts estimates of $1.64 a share'. But I see it as a profit of $1.20 a share on $0.6 billion, 'easily missing analysts estimates by a wide margin'. Same old song and dance. You put in all the things they aren't showing, and take off all the phony 'earnings' shifted to them via AIG and other sources, and you'd see the real story, in my opinion, but that will forever be 'the greatest story never told', again, in my opinion.

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
