I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.

I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

Yep, I agree 100% with your assessment. It's the same old, same old. And since Goldman Sucks is making more than they have ever made before, the system is actually being strained more, the cows being milked harder, than ever before. Ultimately it will collapse, there is nothing that will ever change my mind about that, but will that be in five years, twenty-five years, or a hundred years I can't say (making the concept useless for trading), and will the INDU be at 20,000, 50,000, or 100,000 when it happens, I also can't say. But a system this inherently unstable will eventually 'make a mistake' and collapse, mark my words.

Eventually they all fall, but only when they are held accountable for their actions. Something that I have rarely seen in my lifetime.

I was really noticing comments like this on TV, and now here it is in writing. Pretty funny stuff.

watch the week of sep16 2009. That's the .382 time factor off the '07'09 bear trend. Might get something there in addition to other geometric confluence and price action, intermarket, sentiment etc..

666 low price in terms of days from 10/10/2007 = 08/07/2009
Price targets are also there. So maybe this is it, with slight delay due to the option expiration games.

I think this explains the situation as close to how I see it as anything I've read so far:

nick , all u can do is prepare and get ready with your areas, just in case. But let the market show its hand first. You can anticipate by summing up the odds for a favorable action within the range of your area, but don't try to predict what it'll do.

So, now the AFL-CIO is pushing hard for a trader tax! What do they have to do with it? And it's looking like it may be gaining traction. Recall, a 1,000 share SPY position, which is a 2 mini equivalent position, at only 0.2% tax per side, would be $400 tax for every trade, win or lose, profit or loss. Imagine that. Imagine what would happen to liquidity. Probably very little, because they would give Goldman Sucks and the rest exemptions, but we would be out of stock trading. And most aren't worried about this one little bit, but this resurgence here with the AFL-CIO pushing it has me worried...

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
