I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.
I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

Free market? That's like saying there is no corruption in governments. Ha!
It's all lies, all the time.

So, was that a topping formation in the PTA (all the PTA's), and now the moves have begun? No matter what, this sure is exciting. Or will the manipulation rampers, the purveyors of wisdom in spending our tax dollars, ramp this on the Fed minutes in a half hour? Can't wait to see. Maybe they don't like what they hear and we finally get some selling off the areas. What a market! This five day coil with the VIX low is going to end soon, and a move up would not jump the VIX much, so I know what I am looking for.

If they decide to turn this up another notch the next spot I am watching is right around the 1400 area where besides other things the ML of a large upsloping set comes in. Pretty important stuff right now I would think since we're also getting closer and closer to the highs of the year.

The tools sure can be impressive to me at times. Next area of interest for me is in the 1330's, assuming this EXP ABCD here doesn't gain any serious traction to the upside. A 'wave 2' here wouldn't be too bad, though.

Sure is playing out nicely. Do the setup on the Trannies. That one rolled just about dead off its area, and is down almost 5% in just over two trading days. I sent that chart in advance to a trader friend who had a bullish setup in it, and he thought I was totally insane. It rolled right off the area. Got to keep an eye on those setups.

Well, I'll tell you... This market has had every chance I can imagine to sell to any degree off that 1380 area, and it just won't. The bullish sentiment just hasn't changed much. I see that 'rising wedge' or 'rolling wave 5' or 'rising wave 5' or whatever buzzword you want to use, as a topping pattern right into the PTA, and I think I couldn't ask for more. But everything is going line to line, and it just keeps postponing any decision, all the while looking more like it wants up than down. This is a case where everything on my charts, as far as setups, says down, and price action is clearly saying up, or at least 'no way' to down.
I wanted to point this out because although there was a clear trigger for the mid-term short setups, and some nice follow through (more on some than others, like the trannies, which fell very nicely off their area), they are bouncing right off expected areas. This in and of itself is actually great as far as I see it, as long as they bounce up in 'wave 2's', preferably ABCD's, to expected areas, and then crater into 'wave 3's' down. This is the key part for me, assessing the move up. I just don't want to see what I am seeing so far. It wouldn't surprise me even the tiniest bit if this gapped up huge tomorrow and blasted out that 1380 area, or just did another inane short-covering rally right through it. I feel like 1420 (or even 1470) is calling to it like sirens did to sailors. I will still see what it does, but I want to make it clear the price action is about as wrong as I have ever seen for the area to hold. This one will go down in my books as a real oddity if it does roll lower.
Probablility-wise I am starting to think it may not even be worth staying with the premise (assuming it doesn't blow out tomorrow) even if it did hang around some more. It's a coin flip, in that on one hand I want to have patience, but I also don't want to ignore clear signals and clues that something isn't right. On another note, though, the way it is seeing the lines and going line to line, setup to setup, on the lower timeframes, is really great for intraday, in my opinion, while waiting to see what the mid-term play does. Watch that VIX, too, which is right down at the bottom of its recent range, all primed for a big sell (or primed to grind down and set a new lower range...).

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
