I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.

I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

Nice work, roofer.

So, we now have the seventh 300+ day in this bear market. Recall those stats I posted, and also showed in my last commentary. Long live the bear.

i posted earlier that kane 5 point.. .685- .886 seemed in the cards... spy topped at roughly .685... now lets see if we can get .786(12334)

You know, amongst many other things, the S&P dropped right off two 'crazy' trendlines (or maybe two variations of one line). If M or anyone wants to take a shot at charting this (not in here, creat a topic for it), go for it. If no one gets it, I'll give some hints later.

This is incredible. NQ almost 80 off the high? ES now only up 6. This may give it all back. This market is incredible. FRE now .95, FNM 1.00. Wow.

This is such an unprecedented situation. I hate to say it is unfolding as I suspected and posted many times in my commentary, I wish I would have been 'wrong' on this one. We may still be okay, but I surely see us on a precipice and we could as easily go off the cliff as not. This is, in my opinion, a once per century event. Not specifically the potential short-term climax point we may see soon, but the entire unwinding process from the insane credit bubble, and that has a long ways to go yet, I think. I just hope, and I'm really serious, we don't melt down i.e. collapse of the dollar and essentially the U.S. We'll see what happens when the Fed lowers rates, probably before the open. I for one am scared, but the potential trading opportunities may be once in a lifetime, so it's a time to focus on that. Cross your fingers everyone that we are all still here in a few days...

Well, Asia has stopped trading i.e. is dumping, swaps and bonds from AIG now, or so they just said on TV. ES now down another 20 in the aftermarket. AIG has a trillion dollar balance sheet, not to mention leverage. From what they say, unlike LEH, almost everyone has exposure to them. We seem really close to meltdown. I hope they work something out, but if panic ensues, I think it is possible to see panic in the dollar and it could literally collapse. Once these things start, they can't be stopped. But what can the interveners do right now to stem this? Heck, maybe it is all going to be fine, but I, for one, don't think I'll be sleeping a lot tonight. I knew all this was going to happen, I wrote about it for a long time in my commentaries, I posted links in here, but I sure don't feel 'satisfied' having been 'right', I just feel nauseated. It won't do any of us any good to make money if the money is worthless. Like I said, cross your fingers we are all still here in a few days...

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
