I thought I might try something different here, and see how it goes. It's quite difficult for me to post a lot to the various topics, especially with charts, since the method I use for posting charts is very cumbersome. Some charts can take me a half hour or more to put together. Since the charts I use for posting are not my 'working' charts, this work is duplicative.
I have various ideas and thoughts here and there about different things, and if I have a 'central clearing area' where I can just put out a sentence or two, pointing to something without doing the work, the members can do what assessment and analysis they want with the ideas, and post charts if they want, preferably to the respective areas they have for that topic. This way it would leave this topic more 'clean'. If you have a question or comment on what I was pointing out you could post that in here.
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, or anything you think would be helpful/useful. Keep in mind I am not going to just tell you all my best setups in advance, especially if I plan to trade them, as that is not 'what I do' in here, or anywhere. I want to point out things that may need some work, and might go unnoticed otherwise, or are just of interest.

Yeah Jim, this thing looks really sweet, everything is cominmg together very well. I have been following this in ZB. Check out .685, TWO ABCD 1.00, and adjusted forks. Talk about sycronicity!

Hey, D, what happened to your charting? Can't you do charts for here anymore?

OK, so China decided to triple taxes on stock transactions to 'cool the speculation'. Imagine the impact on our business here if that happened... Of course it would depend on the starting point for the tax rate, too. I also just heard they are starting 300,000 new brokerage accounts per day over there right now. Hmmm, sounds like '99 here to me, or '89 in Japan.

It would be very curious if the Russell got to the 38.8 area where a natural set upper // sits at the .886. That might set up a variation of the roofer's .886 gap day. But I am watching something right here it has to hurdle first if it is to see that upper area. I'm just curious as can be to see what it would do with that area if hit, given the huge gap and ballistic run up. The daily pivot also sits right there, too.

1-min 3-drives to the .786, right at the daily pivot. Does it have the legs for another thrust?

So, the Chinese tax rate was .10%, and they raised it to .30%. Talk to me when it's 30%-50%. It seems the Chinese are great at making big sounding gestures that have essentially zero realistic effect. I mean, if you were second mortgaging your house and taking advances on your credit cards, like they did here in '99 and like they are now in China, and the tax rate on stocks was .10% and now it's .30%, would you stop doing it? Get real.

If we look at all the bubbles the chinese bubble seems to be the largest and also the scariest, because so many investors over there are so new and this is completely unchartered territory for most. The chinese government isn't stupid and they know very well how dangerous this looks. 300K new brokerage accounts every day is just nuts. These really seem to be the times of another goldrush........
Somehow I just can't shake the feeling that the only thing that's gonna bring about a real 'correction' of the markets will be a catastrophic event with far-reaching consequences and I can only hope that I am wrong....

I agree that it seems like only a catastrophe will prick the bubble. And if so, the consequences will likely be far-reaching, indeed. It's something I'd prefer not to see. The trading is just soooo good right now, IMO, I'd hate to see it trashed.

I think the second chart is particularly telling. I agree with the conclusion, this market is nothing more than Euro-yen carry trade on, Euro-yen carry trade off. No balance, no participation, no depth, as I discussed in my last monthly commentary, just leverage/deleverage, risk on/risk off, and that's it. Skynet is totally sentient. How long, like in the movie, until the machines decide to vaporize the useless humans?
